Atomic No.6 was a theatre group active in Athens between 2012 and 2016. It approached performance not as traditional plays, but as scenic compositions that fused text, recorded video and spatial environments.

The Approach

Ersi was a founding member of the group. Each production began with the whole group in one room, working from a text or an idea towards the best way to present it and the universe it needed. The video and the graphics grew out of those conversations, so they were part of the concept from the start, not applied to it afterwards.

In EDIT, the video was a character: a performer in live dialogue with his own recorded self. In ΜΠΕΚΕΤ_ΠΑΡΑΘΥΡΟ, staged inside an ordinary second-floor flat in Exarcheia, it was a presence that appeared at carefully chosen moments, a character who was not in the room. Alongside the video, Ersi designed the posters, campaign imagery and printed invitations, which took their textures and mood from the room the audience was about to enter.

The Outcome

EDIT was presented in Athens in 2014. ΜΠΕΚΕΤ_ΠΑΡΑΘΥΡΟ ran in Athens in 2015 and 2016, then travelled to Patras, Lefkada and the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus. Μαρία-Ευθυμία Γιαννάτου reviewed it in Narrativa in February 2016 and the ANT1 channel reported on the work on its evening news.

The approach

The visual identity matched the physical space down to the smallest detail.
